Darren began performing at the age of 5 in Dulwich at local Theatre shows and Carnival competitions at The Notting Hill Carnival. Ten years later while doing his A levels he decided to pick up where he left off and trained at South London Dance Studio under Zoe Dawson. He later gained a scholarship for vocational training at The Urdang Academy where he trained extensively in acting, singing and dance.
Darren graduated early in 2007 with honours and went straight into his first show Carmen Jones at The Royal Festival Hall accompanied by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra & The London Symphony Orchestra.
Since then he has played leading roles in many shows both on the West End and around the World, such as Five Guys Named Moe, The Screams Of Kitty Genovese, A Harlem Dream, Sister Act, Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat , Guys & Dolls and is known for his performance as Sammy Davis Jr. in The Rat Pack Live From Las Vegas and other Rat Pack shows around the globe. He has also Written, Produced, and Directed his own show The Rat Pack Burlesque Show.
Darren is also a founding member of UK Hip Hop Dance company BirdGang and still collaborates with them on projects. He has performed in commercials, music videos, studio recordings, Bollywood films, short films, musicals, plays and events such as The London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony & The National Theatre’s 50th Anniversary of Black Theatre and can be seen on UK television in the HMRC Tax Credits commercial and on BBC 3 Quickies.
